Christmas Anticipation Mass today, followed by candy canes from Santa (with help from a few SJS elves), classroom Christmas parties, and the middle school Holiday Bowl = A GREAT way to head into Christmas break! Merry Christmas!
The 1st and 2nd graders read read “The Penguin Who Wanted to be Different” and made ornaments out of model magic.

The Saint James School girls defeated MLC Magnet School of Bloomfield Monday evening 30-17 by dominating the boards and fast breaking. Alyssa led the team with 18 rebounds followed by Angie 13, Bella 9, and Gabby 7, Sarah 5 and Aaliyah 4. Sammy led the team in steals with 4 while Gabby, Angie, and Bella each had 3. Offensively, Alyssa hit for 7 followed by Angie’s 6. Allie, Sammy, and Gabby had 2 baskets per. Bella added 3 and Maggie had 2 points respectively. Fine passing led to 11 of our baskets as Angie had 4 assists followed by Sammy’s 3 (stellar point guard play ). Bella had 2 assists while Sarah and Trisha each had 1. Great job Sabers!
All this week, Saint James School K – 8th grade students have been participating in the worldwide initiative #HourOfCode2019, in honor of Computer Science Education Week…
This Friday, December 13th, students may wear “comfy” clothes (sweatpants, sweatshirts, t-shirts) or weather- & school-appropriate PJs to school for a $1.00 donation. All proceeds, which should come to school with the student on Friday, and will benefit the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
CCMCs annual PJ day, which many schools and businesses across the state participate in, helps not only raise money for a great cause, but is in honor of all the brave kids fighting cancer at Connecticut Children’s and elsewhere.
Please remember, students must adhere to the dress code/dress down guidelines and PJs must have sleeves (short sleeves are ok) & long pants. Also, no slippers due to safety concerns.
