This Friday, December 11th, students may wear “comfy” clothes (sweatpants, sweatshirts, t-shirts) or weather- & school-appropriate PJs to school for a minimum $1.00 donation. All money collected, which should come to school with the student next Friday, and will benefit the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
CCMCs annual PJ day, which many schools and businesses across the state participate in, helps not only raise money for a great cause, but is in honor of all the brave kids fighting cancer at Connecticut Children’s and elsewhere.
Please remember, students must adhere to the all Saint James School dress down guidelines (noted in the school handbook) and PJs/attire must have sleeves (short sleeves are okay) & long pants. Also, no slippers due to safety concerns.
Please see the attached information on the 2020 Saint James School Tree of Blessings: 2020 Tree of Blessings Order Form
A special Prayer Service honoring the named individuals will be held on WEDNESDAY, December 16th. This year, due to the pandemic, 8th grade students will host the service and it will be recorded for broadcast in all the classrooms.
Please have all orders in to the school office by Friday, December 11th. All proceeds will benefit SJS.
In their weekly art class, 4th grade students learned about American artist, animator, and designer Mary Blair (designer of Disney’s “It’s A Small World”) and created their own Mary Blair inspired works of art.
The SJS Advanced Band was asked to perform for this year’s (virtual) Holiday of Main celebration. You can watch them HERE (or on our SJS Facebook page) with a special introduction from Santa and Prancer. Great job Sabers!
In keeping with tradition, our Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd Grade students left one shoe outside their classroom this morning in celebration of St. Nicholas Day (Feast Day of St. Nicholas). More commonly observed in Northern Europe…
Yesterday our 5th grade students attended Mass at St. James Church where they each received a bible blessed by Father Janusz.
Our 3rd graders had fun playing with the Dot and Dash coding robots during our 3rd grade STEM with Mrs. Poth yesterday afternoon.
