1st Grade Prayer Towers

During their STREAM class, SJS 1st graders wrote (or drew a picture of) something they would like to pray for on a colored index card – then built the tallest tower possible out of 10 flat and 10 folded cards to help them lift that prayer up to God.

United Way Workplace Campaigns

The 2021 United Way Community Workforce Campaign will be kicking off at many local companies over the next few weeks. Please remember you can donate to Saint James School through the United Way by utilizing our code – AG0681-1 or going to the section “Write In/Other” and writing in “Saint James School, Manchester, CT.” Please share this information with relatives and friends who may be willing to support our school as well.  As always, we thank you for your consideration and support of Saint James School!

Rosary Prayed Today

Thank you to our 8th grade students for hosting today’s school-wide Rosary (over the intercom).  Here are a few pictures of the kids praying in their classrooms this morning.

Remembering September 11th

This afternoon, we all came together outside in remembrance and reflection, and to dedicate our school’s new 9/11 memorial garden (designed/created by volunteer Mr. Zaremba ). We concluded the special ceremony by singing, “God Bless America.”

Kindergarten Art

Today during Art class with Mrs. Rafferty, SJS Kindergarten students listened to the story ‘The Dot’ by Peter Reynolds, and created their own Dot-inspired works of art.

We Had a GREAT First Day!

Thank you to all our families for helping make it a GREAT first day! Here are a few pictures we captured throughout out time together this morning.

Cross Country Reminder

Saint James School offers a Cross Country team for students in Grades 5 – 8 who enjoy running.   In order to participate in the team when the season kicks off, students must have the endurance to run at least one mile without stopping (at the very minimum).

Coach O’Neill is also looking for a couple of parent volunteers who enjoy running to help out with our team this year – unfortunately, we cannot have a team without parent helpers (please reach out to Mrs. Sager at lsager@saintjamesschool.net if you can help).

Please remember that students running Cross Country will need their Athletic Health Form completed & signed by the child’s doctor for the start of school (students cannot participate until this form is on file): Athletics Health Permission Form

Reminder: SJS Spiritwear

Show your school spirit and support SJS with Saint James School Spiritwear!

Please note that the Navy shorts, Navy Sweatpants, and Navy Sweatshirts (only) MAY be worn to school on Gym day (for grades K – 8).  The Gray t-shirt required for gym day, however, must be from Lands’ End or Dennis Uniform company.

If your student(s) will be running Cross Country this fall (open to Grades 5-8), the below link also includes optional SJS Cross Country Spiritwear.
