This week, all K-8 students will again be participating in the worldwide initiative #HourofCode2021 during their STREAM classes in honor of Computer Science Education Week.

In addition, this year SJS families also are invited to participate in the fun of coding at home by attending a special NATIONAL FAMILY CODE NIGHT on Tues, Dec 7 at 7:00pm. This event is a virtual event geared toward families with children in Kindergarten to Grade 5 and hosted by CS is Elementary. It is a one-hour live stream where parents and children can learn to code together! No coding experience is necessary to participate. Please see this short video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOQrrVvjBQI) and flyer (Family Code Night Flyer) for more information. One lucky family will win a special prize drawing for Dash’s Neighborhood, a robotics virtual playground from Wonder Workshop, makers of Dash the Robot. And everyone gets a Code@Home Guide, full of free coding games and activities.
We hope your family will join in the fun with other families from our school and across the nation!
