The extended day program is requesting recyclable items for a Recycle Craft project which will be made on April 22nd in celebration of Earth Day. Please help us out by sending CLEAN items to the school such as: egg cartons, leftover wrapping paper, tin foil, paper towel rolls, cards and envelopes, magazines, and any other items that might be useful.
Thank you for helping us with this fun, educational experience for our extended day students!
The Saint James School Foundation Spring Scramble Golf Classic is celebrating its 22nd year! The generosity bestowed upon the foundation from families and friends of the school has been overwhelming throughout the years. If you’re wondering how you can help us continue to make this tournament a success, please click HERE. Your support will allow us continue this great tradition that provides SJS with funds for tuition assistance, technology enhancements, and margin of excellence programs for the school.
Invitations (and information) for the Foundation’s Golf Classic & Dinner, which is being held on May 11th, were sent home with Saint James School students via kid-mail several weeks ago. If someone you know does not have a child at the school and would like to request an invitation, sponsorship information, or has questions about the event, please have them contact Tom Tierney at thomasjtierney@gmail.com.
Please note, Mr. Corcoran will be teaching all band students 4th – 8th grade on Friday, April 1st this week.
All students, faculty, parents, and other guests of our students are invited to join us this Friday, April 1st, at 7:25am in Ms. O’s middle school classroom for a special Prayer Service where we will pray/sing the Divine Mercy Chaplet, accompanied by one of our Saint James grandparents on the guitar.
Please take this time and/or encourage your child(ren) to join us in prayer as we prepare for Divine Mercy Sunday. Please note, students/parents do not need to bring anything to this service (rosary beads and prayers will be provided).
We look forward to seeing you and/or your child(ren) there!
As a reminder, our Hats Off to Reading Contest ends tomorrow (Friday, April 1st) for students in Kindergarten through Grade 6. All completed reading logs must be submitted to your child’s homeroom teacher by tomorrow so results can be tallied. Details on the contest can be found HERE.
The deadline for ordering 2015-2016 Yearbooks is tomorrow, Wednesday, March 30th. Order forms were sent home with students last week. If you need a new form, please contact the school office. Please make sure all yearbook orders are in by March 30th.
The Saint James School Soccer season begins tomorrow evening (Wednesday, March 30th). Everyone who signed their child up for Soccer should have received an e-mail from Jon Sargent (who oversees our soccer program). If you have not received an e-mail from Mr. Sargent, please send him an e-mail asap to sjssoccer@charter.net so that your child gets assigned to a team and you get all the necessary information.
Practices (and many games) will be held at Charter Oak Park in Manchester (across from Carter Chevrolet). Parking is available in the South United Methodist Church/Manchester Chamber of Commerce parking lot (entrance is located on Hartford Road). Please use the crosswalk to cross the intersection (there is a “walk” button that can be used to stop traffic). Parents are asked to accompany their child across the street as it is a very busy intersection.
Please be sure players wear proper shoes, shin guards, and bring an appropriate size soccer ball and a water bottle. Please put your child’s name on the ball and water bottle.
The Junior Varsity teams (Grades 3, 4 and 5) will practice tomorrow evening from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Please try to be at practice a few minutes early to be ready to start at 5:00. The Varsity teams (Grades 6, 7 and 8) will practice from 6:00pm to approximately 7:30pm.
