Volunteers Needed For Halloween Event

Plans are underway for the Halloween Trunk-or-Treat event on October 22.  There will be a committee meeting for anyone interested in volunteering for the Halloween event on Tuesday, Oct 4, in the school cafeteria immediately following the HSA monthly meeting.  The HSA meeting will begin at 7pm and the Halloween committee meeting will start at approximately 8pm.  If you are interested in volunteering, please consider coming to the meeting.  If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to help out, please email Alicia Poth at HSA@SaintJamesSchool.net.  Thank you!

1st SJS XC Meet

The first meet for our Cross Country team (Grades 5-8) will be today (Thursday, 9/29) at Vernon Middle School (777 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon).  Please have your runner there at 3:00pm.

The Harry Geraghty Invitational (6th – 8th Grades only) is this Saturday (10/1) at Rockville High School (70 Loveland Hill Rd, Vernon).  The Girls race at 9:00am, Boys at 9:30am.  All runners must arrive no later than 8:00am to preview the course as a team.  No runners will be allowed to preview the course after 8:30am.

As a reminder, all XC events can be viewed on our school’s website (under Extra Curricular/Cross Country).  You can link to a copy of the XC calendar HERE.  Please note, each meet on the calendar is listed with the address of the host school.

Reminder: Lucky Taco Dine-Out Today!

Take the night off from cooking, check out an awesome family-owned restaurant in our community, and support Saint James School – all at the same time!  All day today (9/29), Lucky Taco (829 Main Street, Manchester) will donate 10% of sales back to Saint James School (take-out or dine-in both apply).

With its super-close proximity SJS, consider grabbing something from Lucky Taco for an after-school snack (or to reheat for dinner later), or to simply have a great meal after picking your child(ren) up at extended day.

All orders, all day long – both food and beverages – will be part of the 10% donated to Saint James School (no flyer is needed)!
