The girls JV Basketball team (grades 4-6) will have tryouts on Tuesday, October 25th from 2:05pm – 4:00pm in the school gym. As a reminder, all players must have a 2016-2017 Athletics Health Form on file with the school in order to participate. Participating girls should be dismissed to the gym with the walkers at the end of the school day.
All 5th & 6th grade girls currently participating in Cross Country must go to XC practice on Tuesday instead of basketball. If your daughter is in grades 4-6 and plans to play basketball but will not be attending tryouts on Tuesday (because of XC or another reason), please e-mail Jaime Jablonecki (jasc5@att.net) to confirm your child will be playing this year. A second tryout date for JV Girls will be added to the schedule shortly.
Boys participating in the 4th & 5th grade basketball program will have an Open Gym session this Sunday, October 23rd, from 1:00pm – 2:30pm. Students must have their 2016-2017 Athletics Health Form on file with the school to be eligible to participate.

The SJS Cross Country team competed in a tri-meet against Sage Park and Timothy Edwards in South Windsor this past Wednesday. SJS 6th grader Abby Ray won the competition with Kaitlyn Nyberg, also in 6th grade, taking 3rd. Isabelle Burke, Lindsay O’Neill, and Ally Ansaldi were 5th, 6th, and 7th respectively, helping the Saint James School take home another first place finish at this meet.
For the boys, AJ Bushnell led the team in the two mile race with Dominic Cavallo, Kevin Leger, Jack Green, and Ryan St. Jean rounding out the top 5 spots for Saint James.
The team has the weekend off. The next and final weekday meet will be next Thursday at St. Timothy in Bloomfield. The final meet of the season will be the CT State Meet held at Wickham Park on Saturday, November 5th.

Thank you to everyone who has signed up for Trunk or Treat. If you did not RSVP but would like to attend, please send an email to Alicia at aliciapoth@gmail.com.
We are planning on running the event “rain or shine” and we will use the school gym for the festivities if needed.
Please remember to wear your costumes, and bring along $5 cash, candy for 130 children, and any decorations for your trunk or table. We are looking forward to a fun afternoon!
A huge thank you to all our guests who visited Saint James School during Grandparents’ and Special Persons’ day yesterday. After a short performance by the band and various classes, guests visited in the classrooms with their SJS student(s) and participated in fun activities. Below are some pictures we took throughout the morning (click pictures to enlarge).
