Christmas Store a Success!

The HSA would like to offer a very big thank you to everyone involved in yesterday’s Christmas Store.  There were so many wonderful volunteers who helped set up the store and worked throughout the day to assist the students as they shopped.  The students had so much fun shopping! A very special thank you to Mrs. Pesola-Strickland for shopping all year long for the gift items and for coordinating and organizing the store!

SJS Students Spread Christmas Cheer

The HSA GIVES “Cookies & Cards” event was a sweet success with many smiling faces from both young and old!  Several SJS families joined in the fun on Saturday evening to treat each resident at The Village at Buckland Court to a bag of homemade cookies and an adorable handmade Christmas card.  The children were able to visit with the residents during the dinner-time hour.  They even met a 1939 SJS graduate who shared stories of her days as a student (wearing purple in pic below)!  Thank you to everyone to baked cookies and who came out to deliver them.  A special thanks to Mrs. Sabatella for coordinating the cards and to Mrs. Caldwell and Mrs. Pesola-Strickland for organizing this wonderful event.

Students Dress Down for CCMC

Thank you to all our students and staff who dressed down in red & green today for a $1.00 donation to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The school raised $440 to hopefully make the season a little brighter for children who cannot be at home with their family for Christmas. Here are a few pictures of our students looking merry and bright today:
