Chips, candy, water, soda & gatorade! Everyone enjoys refreshments while watching the game! Starting this Saturday (1/14/2017), concessions will be sold during all basketball games in the SJS gym.
In order to make this a fundraising success, middle school students and parent supervisors are needed to work the concession table between the hours of 9:00am and 2:00pm. Students in grades 7 & 8 can volunteer their time for service hour credit. The volunteers do not need to stay the entire 5 hours, as we are hoping to split the hours between several willing parents. If you are willing to volunteer at future games, but can’t make this one, please let us know.
For more information and if you or your student are able to help at all during any of these hours, please contact Andrea Piotrowski as soon as possible at ampiotrowski@yahoo.com or 860-833-5646. Thank you.
As a reminder, there will be no school this coming Monday, January 16th, due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.

A HUGE Thank You to Saint James School 5th grade student Marion Patsalides, her mom Kerry, and Grandmother Patricia Szemplinski for recording testimonial commercials for Saint James School at the Archdiocese Radio Station in Prospect yesterday. Kerry, Pat, and many other of Marion’s family members are all Saint James School graduates!
Today, our Kindergarten students learned all about the Arctic and some of the animals that live there. The lesson was complimented with an Art project where they learned to draw and paint a penguin on an iceberg (with an igloo). Here are some pictures from Mrs. Vassallo’s class working on their artwork (click pictures to enlarge).
If you are considering East Catholic for your son/daughter for next year, ECHS is hosting ‘Meet & Greets’ for prospective families on January 11th and January 18th from 4pm-5pm. This is a great chance for families who have not yet decided on a high school to tour East Catholic and learn more about everything they offer.
Enjoy a well-deserved night out and have some fun with fellow SJS moms! On Wednesday, February 1, the HSA is hosting a Paint Nite at Muse Paint Bar in Glastonbury.
