SJS 3rd graders have been learning about small animals and habitats as part of their science lessons. Students are working on researching, writing, and illustrating a short book about an assigned animal. Yesterday, Mrs. Phelan’s class dissected (sanitized) owl “pellets,” as they learned about owls and what they eat (click pictures to enlarge). The kids were excited to have retired SJS 3rd Grade teacher Mrs. Camposeo come back to join in the fun! Mrs. Moran’s class will be doing the owl pellet dissection after April break.
Please save the date of Saturday, April 22nd for annual Saint James School Father/Daughter Dance from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. We are also looking for moms who would be willing to volunteer the night of the dance. If you can help, please call or text parent volunteer coordinator Jen Grohs at (860) 670-0687.
Congratulations to our 2017 Hats Off To Reading contest winners – Kindergarten and 4th grade! These two grades read the most books out of their group (K-3rd; 4th-6th) during the contest period. For their efforts, students in the winning grades have earned a free dress down day and a no homework night! The teachers will announce to the students when these to rewards will occur. Congratulations to our winning grades and we hope everyone will keep on reading!
Hopefully you have saved the date of Monday, May 15th for the 23rd Annual Saint James School Foundation Spring Scramble Golf Classic. Foursomes are filling up quickly and this event will sell out so please register as soon as possible.
Sign up as a foursome, a single, or just come for the dinner!
Registration forms were also sent home with SJS students via their school folders and can be viewed/printed HERE. Online registration and sponsorship information is also available by clicking HERE.

As of now, we have not gotten confirmation from the Town of Manchester that the fields are playable. With today’s rain the field will be unplayable so there will be no practice on Wednesday, April 5th. There is still a possibility that there will be some games on Saturday, April 8th, but with additional rain scheduled for Thursday/Friday they may be cancelled. Please stay tuned for further updates.
