Grade 4 Presidents Reports

Today our 4th graders completed their project on an assigned U.S. President, giving an oral presentation to their classmates along with a Google Slides presentation.  Adding to the fun was the “Secret Service detail” announcing each President’s arrival in the morning and escorting the 4th graders around throughout the school day.

Ash Wednesday

This morning SJS K-8 students observed Ash Wednesday with a special prayer service in the school gymnasium. Special thanks to Father Jaime and our wonderful 6th grade readers for leading us in prayer.

Another fun night for our varsity basketball teams on Thursday evening as our Sabers played sister school Saint Bridget at East Catholic High School.

Basketball “Senior” Night

We had a fun night celebrating our 8th grade varsity basketball players last night during our annual “senior night” games.  Both the boys and girls teams brought home a win last night versus St. John Paul II of Middletown.

Interactive African Drum & Dance Performance

This morning our Pre-K3 through Grade 8 students enjoyed a fun, interactive African drum and dance performance with our own Mr. Carter (known professionally as Brother Al) and his friend, dancer Patricia Grant.

Owl Pellets

SJS 3rd graders have been learning about small animals and habitats as part of their science lessons.  Today students dissected (sanitized) owl “pellets,” as part of their lessons on owls and what they eat.  Third graders are also currently working on their small animal research reports.

Pre-K4 Big School Fun

Today our Pre-K4 students had a blast playing in the “big school” gymnasium!  While they were at the K-8 school, our 4-year-olds also enjoyed a special story-time in the “big school” library with Mrs. Tierney.

It’s Time to RSVP: SJS Roaring Twenties Gala!

Yesterday your student should have brought home an informational flyer and RSVP card for our upcoming ROARING TWENTIES GALA (please ensure they pass it along to you).

We are excited to bring back this fun, adults-only event in its traditional format – especially this year as we celebrate and honor Saint James School’s 100th anniversary.  The event will be held around the corner at beautiful Cheney Hall and the capacity is limited so please get your RSVP in early (make checks out to Saint James School HSA).

* AUCTION DONATIONS & SPONSORSHIPS *

If you would like to donate an item to the Auction portion of this year’s Gala, please reach out to Patricia McCarthy at HSA@saintjamesschool.net OR send a copy of the completed Gala Auction Donation Form to the main office.  If you or someone you know would like to advertise their business (or send well wishes to your child’s class, etc.) advertising and sponsorship information can be found here: Gala Sponsorship Form

Hard copies of the Gala Donation and Sponsorship Forms will be available in the SJS main office.
