Mother/Son Event – June 8th

Please save the date for the 2014 Saint James School Mother/Son Event, which will be held at the Star Hill Family Athletic Center on June 8th from 12:00pm – 3:00pm.  The event will feature games in the indoor arena and pool followed by a pizza party.  The cost is $12 per person, which covers activities, food, and drinks.  Please use the form below to RSVP by June 4th (a hard copy of the flyer will also be sent home in the boys’ school folders today or tomorrow).  Attendees are asked to print and sign Star Hill’s waiver to bring with you the day of the event.

Coventry Carpool For Next Year

We have a family from Coventry looking to start an afternoon carpool after Christmas break next year.  If you live in the Coventry area and may be interested, please contact Mrs. DelSignore in the school office.

 

Crazy Socks & Hats Dress Down Raises $419

Dress DownThank you to all our students and staff who participated in the Crazy Socks & Hats dress down day on Friday in support of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2046 located on East Center Street. Together we raised $419.00 which will be donated to the VFW in support of their fundraising efforts for long-overdue building repairs.

2014 SJS Drama Club Presents: Magic Golden Apples – Tomorrow Night at 7:00pm

This morning, the 2014 Saint James School Drama Club put on a wonderful performance for the school during their “dress rehearsal” of Magic Golden Apples.  Tomorrow night (Saturday, May 31st) at 7:00pm is the performance for families, friends, and the general public.  Admission is $5.00.  We hope a lot of school families will come out in support of all the hard work these students (and our parent volunteers) have put into the production.  Below are a few pictures from this morning’s performance.

Reminders for Tomorrow

Just a reminder that there is NO hot lunch being served tomorrow due to the Staff Appreciation luncheon.  All students will need a lunch and drink from home tomorrow.

Also, a reminder that tomorrow is a $1.00 dress down to benefit the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) post on East Center Street in Manchester.  In addition to dress down attire, students may wear crazy socks and a hat if they wish.

Please remember, per our school handbook, the following guidelines apply for dress down days:

  • Clothing must not have indecent writing or pictures; inappropriate slogans or advertisements
  • Revealing clothing is not allowed (including short shorts, halter tops, half shirts, tank tops, and see-through tops).
  • Waistbands must not sag below the waist. Pants legs must not drag on the floor.
  • High heels, platform shoes, flip-flops, Crocs, and shoes with no backs are not allowed.
  • Clothing must not be torn, ragged, or have holes.

Dennis Uniform Representatives at SJS Monday 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Representatives from Dennis Uniform Company will be in the gym this coming Monday, June 2nd, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm .  In addition to showcasing their product offerings, they will have samples of skorts in various sizes available.

 

 

Saint James Student Wins Donation of 1,000 Books for our School's Library

We are very excited to announce that Saint James School 6th grade student Tyler Dias was selected as one of ten seTyler Diascond place winners in a nationwide reading contest sponsored by WWE, the Pearson Foundation, and the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA).  Through his efforts Saint James School just received a donation of 1,000 new books, appropriate for our school’s range of ages.   A huge congratulations and Thank You to Tyler!
