On behalf of the faculty and staff at Saint James School, we are excited to officially welcome Father Michael Casey to the Saint James School family. If you have not yet had the privilege of meeting Father Casey, it is likely you will soon as he plans to be (and has already been) a regular presence at the school and at school functions.
Father Casey is a native of Waterbury where he attended Saint Francis Xavier School and Holy Cross High School before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Following his time at Saint Charles he spent four years at North American College in Rome. Father Casey was ordained in Hartford on May 11, 2013 by Archbishop Mansell. He then returned to Rome for an additional year to continue his studies toward a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (S.T.L) degree. He returned from Rome and was officially assigned to Saint James Parish in July.
Saint James School is very blessed to have Father Casey joining our school family! He welcomes parents to contact him at fathercasey@stjamesmanchester.org (or by calling the Saint James Church rectory) if they have questions about their child(ren)’s religious education or regarding their own faith. In addition, Father Casey is leading a pilgrimage to Italy this coming June and would love to have some Saint James School families among his companions. Please click HERE for more details on the trip.
Congratulations Coach Green
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolCongratulations to Saint James School Gym Teacher Mr. Chris Green who is being inducted into the Rockville High School hall of fame this month for his accomplishments in Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer. In addition, Mr. Green is celebrating his 25th year as Gym Teacher at Saint James School. To celebrate all these accomplishments, several middle school students (wearing, of course, the color Green) and staff put on a surprise assembly on Friday in Mr. Green’s honor. Afternoon Pick-up Parking Reminder
/in Uncategorized /by Saint James SchoolMrs. Kanute would like to remind parents about observing the posted no-parking signs when picking up students from the Pre-Kindergarten in the afternoon. Specifically, there is a No Parking sign from the corner of Otis Street to just before the first driveway on Otis. There is also a No Parking sign across from the school on Park Street. Parking in these areas blocks the cross-walk area and makes it difficult for other drivers. Thank you for helping us to keep everyone safe.

Daily Mass at Saint James Church
/in St. James Notices /by Saint James SchoolFather Casey would like to invite you to consider attending daily Mass at St. James Church as part of your morning drop-off routine. There is Mass in the Church every day of the week: Monday at 12:05 pm and Tuesday – Friday at 8:00 am. It is a great way to start the day after dropping of the students for school. It can be a great opportunity to pray for your children as they begin their school day and can also be a great way to grow in your own Catholic faith in union with the growth your children are experiencing while at school. Mass during the week is only 25-30 minutes so there is plenty of time to get to work or started on the day’s errands afterwards. We hope to see you there.
United Way Community Campaign

Thank you for your continued support of our school!
