Attention Grade 6 Families

The State of CT requires all 6th grade students have an updated Health Assessment form, signed by the child’s pediatrician, on file with the school nurse prior to the start of their 7th grade year.  If your child is currently in 6th grade, please reach out to Mrs. Vignati by phone at your earliest convenience (860.643.5088) to discuss paperwork needs for Fall 2022.

Saturday: Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest

As a reminder, the Knights of Columbus Council 1155 and Council 573 of Manchester will hold their separate annual Free Throw Contests for boys & girls Ages 9-14 on 2/12/22, Saturday, at St. James School gym in Manchester.  Registration is at 12:00 PM and contest is between 12:30 PM and 3 PM.  The event is open to boys and girls ages 9 through 14.  Please print a Registration form HERE and bring it to the event (must be signed by a parent/guardian and the entrant).  Entrants must be accompanied by an adult.

Letter From the Archdiocese

Please review the attached letter from the Archdiocese of Hartford regarding Governor Lamont’s intention to change the state-wide mask mandate for schools effective February 28, 2022.  In light of this update from our Superintendent, we will be working on updating our policies and communicating additional information in the weeks ahead.

Ski Club Tomorrow

Our second Ski Club trip will be tomorrow – Friday, February 11th.   Participants should bring their equipment/ski gear to school and leave it inside the gymnasium doorway like last time.  Any student participants or parent chaperones who cannot make this Friday’s trip, please reach out to parent coordinator – Steve Joyner – at joyner11@cox.net to let him know.

Tomorrow’s HSA Meeting Cancelled

Due to a conflict in schedules, our February HSA meeting – scheduled for February 10th – has been cancelled.  We look forward to seeing everyone in March for the next meeting.

Monday: $1.00 Valentine’s Day Dress Down

Saint James School will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Monday, February 14th with a $1.00 dress down day.  Students may dress in Red, White, Purple, and/or Pink for a $1.00 donation.  Money collected from this dress down day will be donated to the American Heart Association.

3rd Grade STEM Club

A STEM Club session will be held after school on Monday, February 14 for students in 3rd grade.  If your child would like to attend, please fill out the Permission Form below.  There are a limited number of spaces so students will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
