As another year of learning comes to a close we wish to Thank You again for choosing to be part of the Saint James School family, and for the various ways that each of you help make Saint James School such a special place. What an amazing year we had celebrating and honoring 100 years of Catholic education at Saint James School!!! We wish everyone a healthy, fun, and relaxing Summer Vacation!
Important notes/reminders:
Summer Hours: The school office will be open M – F from 9:00am – 12:00pm.
Teacher Assignments: Teacher assignments for Grades 1 – 8 will be e-mailed a few days before school starts as per our standard protocol; Kindergarten teacher assignments will be sent out shortly along with summer playdate information. Pre-Kindergarten information will be sent to families in mid July.
Save the Date: On Wednesday, August 30th parents and students (including Pre-K) will have an opportunity to drop by Saint James School in the morning to bring supplies and meet their child’s teacher. Additional details will be forthcoming closer to the start of school. The first day of school for K-8 (and Pre-K4 full-day students) is August 31st – a 12:05pm dismissal day (aftercare will be available).
Openings: We still have space available in a couple of grades. If you know anyone looking at school options for their child(ren) please have them reach out to Mrs. Guenther.
Extended Day: All families must complete a NEW extended day registration and emergency contact form for each school year. Your child/ren cannot go to aftercare in the fall until we have these documents. If you have not already done so, please submit forms to the school by August 1 to help with staff planning. If you are unsure if you submitted forms for Fall 2023, please reach out to Ms. Jean via email.

This summer you will once again have the option to order your child’s school supplies online and have them delivered directly to your home! In addition, Saint James School receives a percentage of every sale – convenience for you and a great way to support SJS! Summer Assignments: Students in K – 7th grade (entering 1st – 8th) have a summer assignment this year. Copies of these assignments have been sent home with all students. Additionally, please ensure students continue reading on a regular basis throughout the summer months.
Cross Country: Cross Country (open to students in grades 5-8) is scheduled to start shortly after school resumes in the Fall. If your child/ren are interested in participating, please ensure they begin training over the summer. Please find HERE some helpful information from Coach Page that your runner may wish to follow. Runners must have the endurance to run distances of 1-3 miles (without stopping) at the start of the season. Please also have the 2023-2024 Athletics Health Permission Form (signed by your child’s doctor) ready for the 1st day of school.
Multiplication Challenge: And finally, congratulations to the winners of the 2022-2023 multiplication challenge (held annually at SJS for grades 3 – 8) – announced during our awards assembly today – Mrs. Oei’s 6th grade homeroom for most improved and Mrs. Mitchell’s 7th grade homeroom for best overall score. Nice job Sabers!!
