Happy Earth Day! Today our students began the day with a special prayer for the planet and for all of God’s creations. Students have been talking about Earth Day throughout the week and have participated in projects and lessons about the importance of caring for our planet and the people within it. For example, today 8th grade students (during religion class) watched a video about Church-Forests in Ethiopia, read an essay by Rabbi Dr. Ariel Burger, and wrote reflections (which they will share tomorrow) about both pieces.
Second graders wrote a pledge on how they will take care of our planet and our youngest Sabers, in Pre-K3, made a planet craft, a flower, and planted seeds that they will watch grow. Here are some pictures from several grades.
