Over the past month students in Grades 6-8 have been learning about Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their STREAM classes as part of a national program called Day of AI.  Today, May 13, 2022, is the first official Day of AI which was created to provide students with an opportunity to learn and think about AI.  Throughout the program our middle school students have been engaged in discussions and activities touching on various aspects of AI, beginning with defining what AI is and how it is used in our daily lives. Students are also learning how AI machines use data sets, learning algorithms and GAN to learn and generate novel outputs. Most importantly, students have had the opportunity to think about and discuss the implications and responsible use of AI in our society both now and as the technology continues to evolve.
