As part of their Life Science course work, 7th grade students constructed a 3-dimensional model of a plant cell or an animal cell.  Students had to creatively represent the cell organelles (nucleus, nucleolus, mitochondria, smooth E.R. and rough E.R., golgi apparatus, etc.) using items of their choice such as candy, pasta, buttons, string, or foam.  A written chart of the 12 major organelles and their functions accompanied the project and an oral quiz was given to each student/group about their model. Below are pictures of some of the students with their models.  Remote learners also showed their project and were quizzed during class time.
