Our 5th grade students are learning about animal adaptations in science so this week for their STREAM challenge, the students had to design a bird beak that could pick up a seed of their choosing and hold it for 15 seconds.  The students were each given specific materials to use and could only operate their “beak” with one hand.  The challenge winner was the “beak” that picked up and held the greatest weight of seeds for 15 seconds.  Special thanks to Mrs. Poth for these fun pics:
