In a true full-circle moment, on Monday afternoon Saint James School 2nd grade students were surprised with a special visit from USAF combat rescue officer, Captain Tim Dion.  While in 2nd grade at SJS, Tim fondly remembers his class writing letters to military service men and women stationed oversees and later, receiving letters back from them!  So when Tim and his team were recently stationed in the Middle East, his parents reached out to Mrs. Zorger and a plan was devised to have the current 2nd grade students send letters and well wishes to them.

On Monday, Tim – who was briefly in the area to attend an event and visit family – took the opportunity to surprise our 2nd graders.  He shared information about the elite operations that the pararescue division gets involved in, answered student questions, and let the 2nd graders try on some of his gear. He also brought each student a hand-written response to their letter, a picture of his team, and a special treat.  A huge Thank You to Tim for making time to visit with us, and to his parents for continuing to keep in touch with the school!  We certainly will be keeping Tim and his team in our prayers!
