Today for their STEM special with Mrs. Poth, our 1st graders were tasked with building a free-standing bear den using just marshmallows and toothpicks (tying in with their recent science lessons on hibernation). After successfully completing this engineering challenge, students had the opportunity to team up to create larger structures. Very impressive work by these 1st graders!
