Yesterday, Mrs. Alexander’s first grade students learned about contractions.

To illustrate this point and make the lesson fun, students performed surgery on words such as “Can Not” and “You Will” to turn them into contractions. After removing the unnecessary parts, the contractions were put back together using a bandage and an apostrophe. The kids had so much fun learning with this lesson!
