Instrumental Music Info

As a reminder, on Monday, September 8th Mr. Barakat will have a parent meeting at 6:00pm in the cafeteria for any grade 4 – 8 families that would be new to the SJS band program this year and/or would like to attend to meet Mr. Barakat.

Band/Lessons begin Wednesday, September 10th.  Students that were in intermediate band last year should plan to stay in that group for now (last year’s beginning band students will also attend in the intermediate band category).

NEW times for band rehearsal:

* Advanced Band Rehearsals will now take place on Wednesday mornings from 7:15am – 7:45am so students will need to arrive at school early on that day.  Lessons for these students will take place during regular school hours on Wednesdays.

* Intermediate Band Rehearsal will be on Thursday mornings from 7:15am – 7:45am so students will need to arrive at school early on that day.  Lessons for these students will take place during regular school hours on Wednesdays (these students will need to bring their instruments on both days of the week).

* Beginning Band Rehearsal (4th grade and any other 1st year instrumental students) will be on Thursday mornings from 8:00am – 8:30am with lessons also taking place that same day during regular school hours.

Rental note:  Saint James School no longer has rental instruments available.  Please speak to Mr. Barakat about instrument rental options.
