On Saturday, Saint James School’s Robotics Teams competed against a mix of public and private schools throughout the area at the VEX IQ Mix & Match Tournament at St Paul Catholic HS in Bristol.  This event serves as a regional qualifier for the VEX IQ Challenge Connecticut State Championship.

Elementary Competition Results:
Our 5th grade team—Nathan, Dylan, Taylor, and Charles—competed against 23 other teams in their division and delivered an outstanding performance.  They earned 1st place in the Robot Skills Competition and were also awarded the Excellence Award, the most prestigious honor at the event, recognizing a team that excels in all areas of the competition. The team will automatically advance to the State Competition later this month.  Way to go, Sabers!!

Middle School Competition Results:
Saint James School had 4 teams in this category, competing against 52 other teams from around the area.  Three of the four teams placed – coming in 2nd, 4th, and 5th overall (our second place finishers—Will, Jayce, & Landon—also took home a trophy!).  Once the other regions compete, we will be notified if their performances will qualify them for the state competition.  Great job!!

A huge THANK YOU to Mr. & Mrs. Poth for all the time and energy they put into running this extracurricular activity for our school!!
