Attn Gr. 4 – 8 Parents: SJS Basketball Registration
We are starting to plan for the 2025-2026 basketball season, which runs early November through mid-March. Basketball is open to boys & girls in 4th – 8th grade. Due to the large number of participants we typically see (usually 9+ teams), we are trying something new this year.
If your student is interested in playing basketball for SJS, you must complete THIS INFORMATIONAL FORM by October 7th. Only students listed on this form on or before October 7th will receive the basketball registration paperwork and registration information this year. Requests to register after the deadlines will not be accommodated so please be sure you speak to your student asap. We will also be announcing this deadline to the students here at school.
For younger students/new families, here is some additional information about the Saint James School Basketball program:
Boys
* Our 4th & 5th grade boys participate in a developmental program. Practice dates and games are typically Saturday mornings. There may also be one practice during the week in the evenings. We typically have 3 – 4 teams so we need extra coaches at this level if you are able to help.
* Depending on sign-up counts, we anticipate 6th grade boys will be JV, 7th & 8th will participate at the Varsity level. JV teams practice 2 nights during the week with games typically on Saturdays. Varsity has practices and games during the week with possible tournament play on select weekends.
Girls
* Depending on sign-up counts, we anticipate 4th – 6th grade girls will be JV, 7th & 8th girls will participate at the Varsity level. Scheduling of games and practice commitments are the same as the boys JV/Varsity.
Fees & Paperwork
The required activity fees for this season will be $80 for the developmental program and JV teams; $120 for Varsity players. Once we send home paperwork with students that are on the interested participant form, we will have a quick turnaround deadline so please be prepared to submit the 2025-2026 Athletics Health Permission Form (signed by their doctor) unless you have already submitted the 2025-2026 form this year. (Students running Cross Country for SJS do NOT need to submit a new form).
Coaching
If you are able to help coach, please note that in the information form. This is a volunteer program and we cannot run it without parent helpers. Thank you!!
