Our 3rd grade students recently completed a fun project in which they researched, wrote, and illustrated an informational book about a wild animal of their choice.

Guided by a detailed rubric, students used books from the school library for research, with the option to also conduct online research at home.  Students then organized their findings in a clear, logical sequence and wrote each page in their best cursive penmanship.

Their books also included a Dedication page at the beginning, an About the Author page at the end (where they shared about themselves), and illustrations throughout.  An educational visit from the Lutz Children’s Museum also added to the fun of this cross-curricular project.

Next week, the students will share their research with their classmates. Great job Sabers!
