After saying a prayer for safe travels, SJS 1st graders (along with the Pre-Kindergarten students) released their butterflies into the wild yesterday afternoon. The 1st grade students have watched these classroom pets go from caterpillars to chrysalises to butterflies as part of their science studies. The 1st grade students later wrote stories about where the butterflies would travel to and what they would do while there. The stories were put into a cute butterfly folder they made in class.
