Based in a Christian atmosphere, Saint James School children experience positive growth academically, spiritually, morally, and socially.  Religion is a fundamental component of our education, but being Catholic is NOT a prerequisite.  Our prerequisites are to have both a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.  Students of many different religious denominations make Saint James their school, and their exposure to the Catholic faith adds to their life experiences.

Age Requirements

Students entering Kindergarten must be five years of age by December 31st of the current school year and meet the readiness requirements of the school.

Students entering 1st grade must be six years of age by December 31st, have successfully completed Kindergarten, and meet the readiness requirements of the school.

Admissions Priority

Students are selected for enrollment based on the following priority:

1.  Current Students (including those in Saint James School Pre-K moving up to Kindergarten)

2.  Siblings of students currently enrolled at the school

3.  Families who are registered and active parishioners of Saint James Parish

4.  All other families

Additional factors that are taken into consideration during the admissions process include order in which applications are received, previous academic and disciplinary records, placement exam results, and whether relatives of the student are alumni of Saint James School.  Applying for Financial Aid has no bearing on admission decisions.  Students accepted into Saint James School are subject to a probationary period during which time the student will be evaluated to determine their compatibility with the school.
